Supporting Home-Schooled children in learning core subjects
Parents choosing to educate their children outside of the state system and national curriculum, is becoming increasingly common. Naturally, the reasons for this may be multi – faceted. One thing uniting all parents, is their desire to do what is best for their own child.
Having the privilege and freedom to educate your child on a wide range of topics is both a liberating and enriching opportunity, but it is also common to have challenges over the teaching of core subjects, such as English and maths.
This is where I can help. If you are looking to balance your own values and priorities and wish to ensure your child progresses in their writing and mathematical skills, I can provide the support you are looking for. Through dedicated weekly sessions, where the focus is on the enjoyment of learning and developing key skills, your child will grow in confidence in an environment which values the joys exploring new concepts, beyond the confines of a more narrow curriculum experienced in schools.
How I can support your Home Schooling experience
Many parents who choose to have their children home – schooled like to take sole responsibility for delivering all learning opportunities for their child. However, it may be the case that, although you prefer to have your child educated outside of the state system, you would like them to have the opportunity to learn alongside their peers in a friendly, engaging setting with someone who is experienced in delivering new concepts to children in areas such as maths and English: this where I can really help. Aim High’s home – school offer provides support for parents who need extra help in ensuring their child is developing their skills as a learner and making good progress relative to children of a similar age.
Aim High is a positive environment where children can learn at their own pace and allow their curiosity to guide them, alongside a teacher who can provide resources and learning opportunities which stimulates and nurtures a desire to discover new concepts and different ways of learning. Aim High is a safe space for all children develop as learners away from the constraints and pressures of the National Curriculum and school system more generally.
